I love the chirpy colours of their decor; especially since pink is being used so extensively! ^_^ It's located at a convenient location too; jux a short distance away from the National Library~
This was served to every table~
We added $3 to both our mains so that we could have a soup, a drink and their dessert of the day~ That's our lime juice u see up there; very diluted and pretty much tasteless!
The soup of the day was cream of corn; it was alright, nothing to shout about~
Baby's chicken cordon bleu ($8.80)~ The first thing that struck us was the small portion haha~ We ordered this coz i was curious why so many ppl order it! The verdict? We liked the taste; the cheese and ham stuffed inside, the lovely sauce (it says spicy alioli sauce on their webbie; tasted like onion-infused mayonnaise to me - i like!), the potatoes... anything but the chicken itself!
The chicken breast meat was much too tough! It was a pain trying to cut through the chicken, not to mention chewing that stuff! We really liked its taste and all that, but it's a real pity 'bout the texture!
We're definitely getting the fish cordon bleu instead the next time we visit!
My fish and chips ($7.50)! I can't help but order fish and chips whenever i visit a restaurant for the first time. Besides wanting to sniff out the good, if not the best fish and chips in town, it's kinda like my personal gauge for the quality of the restaurant too~
Miss Clarity's version wasn't too bad, but it was rather forgettable too. I would have liked it better if it was beer battered instead of breaded, but that's jux me.
Ordered calamari ($7) coz he's still feeling a little peckish~ The calamari rings came pipin' hot, a rather big portion and was served with tartar sauce. Baby loved it, i thought it was ok~
The dessert of the day was chocolate ice-cream~ No comments on this one!
The best thing about Miss Clarity is that there is no GST and service charge! We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the bill~
We'll definitely return, but we'll skip adding on $3 to our mains for the mediocre soup, drink and dessert. Instead, we shall use the money saved to get another side dish or dessert from the à la carte menu to share! A much better bargain, i would say! ^_^
It's the actual day! Baby had to work, so i spent the afternoon making our dinner; sushi bento!
Aren't the hello kitty chopsticks and little soy sauce containers cute? ^_^
Baby got off work early specially for today, so we lugged these all the way to clarke quay to eat by the river haha... Ambience counts for a lot k! ^_^
I love this strawberry bucket-like bento box! The sushi are all stacked up in case u didn't notice! And those are famous amos cookies on top haha~
Baby's favourite inari! And i made egg mayonnaise specially for these~ ^_^
My (nearest) favouritest place is closing down! Actually no, it has already closed down! Lot One's KBox!!! ARGGHHH...!!!
WHY OH WHY!? Perhaps they're doing this to cut cost coz they're opening other new outlets but but... Lot One's outlet is so profitable can!? Everytime i go, there's quite a lot of ppl ma! HMPF!
I'm like a regular's regular there lor! How dare they do this to me!?
I have to visit them on their last day! *sniffs*
We refilled our assorted nuts for like, 6 times~
My favouritest song! In case u dunno what song this is (how could u!?), it's "Forever Love" by Lee Hom!
We haven't had Burger King for a really long time now as we felt that their food's standard was deteriorating and the portions shrinking~ Hardly justifiable considering the fact that they're called Burger King, right?
It's easy to tell that their business has been dwindling; the almost empty state of their restaurants and the never-ending discount coupons they distributed~
We got one of their coupons again and one of their meals looked like a pretty good deal to us so we thought what the heck, let's jux give it a try! I admit i wanted to see whether they've improved or still as bad haha~
Here's what we got:
Bk Chicken Sandwich, BK Big Fish, onion rings, fries, 3 pc chicken tenders and 2 drinks~ Supposed to be $9.90, but we upsized our drinks and fries, so it became $12.30~
I have to say it was quite a pleasant surprise for us both as it seemed like they had finally done something to remedy the situation~
The burgers weren't too bad (more on this later) and i quite like the chicken tenders!
The burgers were considerably bigger in portion than the last few times we had them~ Baby thought the chicken one was better but i felt that my fish one was better~ It's subjective, i guess~
I haven't had the chance to try their other offerings so i can't say for sure whether they've really improved on the whole, but i can safely say that i'll be back to gauge that!
It was the last day of our advanced diploma class and class ended early, so we decided to have our lunch at Ikea!
All of us had the daily special: fish (and chips) with chive sauce! And of coz not forgetting the must-have; meatballs!
Swedish meatballs ($6.30 for 10)! Love the potatoes and cream sauce; dun quite like the lingonberry jam though!
A rather big portion for the affordable price; fish (and chips) with chive sauce ($4.90)! The fish batter wasn't cripsy at all but the insides were soft and moist~ Still good in its own way! The chive sauce was quite the perfect complement!
I had a potato salad ($1.80) but it tasted kinda weird; had an aircon-ish kinda taste. Thank goodness there was the spring onions to save it (by jux a little)!
